CNC Mill
For this project we had to recreate a break part out of foam
Step 1
We were actually able to jump right into inventor for this project because the part had already been designed for us
Step 2
With the design I recreated it in Inventor
Step 3
I know moved the file over to Fusion 360 and followed similar steps to the maze to create a tool path for the machine to follow
Step 4
I then exported the file and moved over to the mill
Finished Product
When the part cut I took it over to the laser and engraved my name
Conclusion
I learned a lot from the CNC mill product, first I learned after several weeks which machine was the router and which was the mill. More seriously I learned about tool-paths and how the machine understands our commands. I learned how small mistakes can result in a large outcome, in my case, somewhere in the process I filleted the edges of my break part resulting in such and odd look to it. I also learned about the precision of the mill and how in can make tiny details if you give the machine the correct commands. Overall I think the mill was my favorite machine to use due to its precision and how quickly it can cut.
